A game-changer in fluid refining

Humans have evaporated seawater for thousands of years to extract salt and purify water. Our proprietary multichannel thermodiffusion technology (MTD) is an engineering marvel: the first method to achieve thermal refining—all in the liquid phase—without evaporation or membranes. This is a major milestone in fluid treatment because it enables energy savings, facilitates scalability, and reduces waste of water resources. Importantly, the energy-efficiency of our technology increases with concentration, filling a gap where concentrated brines and solutions are challenging to refine through membrane-based methods, because materials degradation can be severe.

Our unique species separation technology changes the concentration of species in mixtures, binary or multicomponent, producing continuous low- and high-concentration streams. It is suitable for high- and low-throughput applications, which include brine concentration in resource recovery and refining of protein aqueous solutions for drug manufacturing.
